Yes, 5 days if you fail, starting from the day after the failed exam. For example, if fail your exam on Tuesday, you can retake the exam no earlier than Monday.

The “180 days” is how long you have to wait to retake an exam you passed.

Got this question on the Transcender exam prep and on the ICND1 exam. The correct answer is ii) It does not start RIP process.

According to the explaination by Transcender, it states that by entering the command Config#Router RIP, it puts you in RIP Configuration, but RIP does not start until after you enter the Network command.

Passed 930/1000 this morning. 43 questions and 75 min. Had a vtp config sim, frame-relay sim, several acl, and about 4-5 ipv6 questions, mostly asking for valid ipv6 addresses and Ripng. Exam was hard but fair. I think some questions may not have been graded? Cisco does say they might have those on the exam. Scored higher on the ICND2 than did on ICND1. Thank goodness its over.

I did see quite a few questions from 9tut, but had different ip’s and such. It was hard to tell how I was fairing on the exam. I really had no idea how I was doing until the exam was over and I received my score. I had about 5 min left when I finished the exam. I think practicing on live equipment made the difference for me. I used ICND1 & ICND2 by Wendell Odom almost exclusively. I took a look at Todd Lammele Fast Pass, but I needed more explanations than were provided in the Fast Pass book. I also used the Portable Commands Guide for CCNA to drill down on commands. Going on to CCNP.

Ah man, this exam sounds tough! I passed ICND1 first time in August last year and i’ve been studying for this ICND2 since but only half heartedly. Just finished watching the last CBTbnugget vid on IPV6 and it made little sense. Going to watch them again from the start and read the Wendell Odom book at the same time… can see this taking a lot longer to complete as i’m working full time also.

Passed today with 850 mark. Had 4 drop and drags-all on here but mixed up on 2 of the positions of answers,had question on dslam and what it has to do with-multiplexing,had implementation sim 1 and 2 and show configuration sim-these took alot of time had to watch timer close also had security testlet which didnot include the banners,you need to read question carefully and read output of switch and router carefully to answer got 100%. You need to know the process of all the info not just answers because a lot of it I had never seen before and the questions asked different info out of the process-a few questions I had to elimanate wrong answers to get correct answer,also many questions where multiple answers in each –exam was tough but seemed fair-know your stuff –know subnetting in your head–practice all theses sims in packet tracer so you know the process and can get your times down, I have no networking experence and have devoted 2 months to studying-work and study every available moment right up to 15 min review in parking lot before exam.

cbt nuggets–these are good for over all info but wont get you a pass grade
9tut.net–never would have passed without it

it does start rip afaik but it wont advertise any routes, so in practice rip wont do anything, you need to add the network command before rip will do anything

Just failed an abosultuley horendous exam. i had VTP lab and another lab but i got so confused with it i cant even describe it. i’ve seen part of it on this website somwhere and when i get my head together i will have a look. Using this site, cisco and Exam cram i didnt feel ready but when do you ever. Walking in i expected to at least squeak through but getting 720 was somthing i wasnt expecting and put it down to this one simlet. I couldnt answere any of the questions. a few questions from this site helped me save time. Another questions i do recall. went somthing like this. Which two of the following can be changed in order to change the ospf priority. Bandwidth, cost, router id, Clock speed. This questions really through me.

In the above Sim:

Network address: 192.168.152.176 (because 176 = 16 * 11 and 176 < 177)
and
Network address: 192.168.152.160 (because 160 = 16 * 10 and 160 < 161)

This simple equation looks easier than the process I am using to get the Network address.
Can anyone explain where the number 11 comes from in the first example and 10 in the second?

Passed my ICND1 yesterday with a 912 mark, this site was a big part of my prepping and even one of the SIMs popped up in the exam though slightly different but it all helps learn the process!

For preparation I used:
CBT Nuggets
Packet Tracer
9tut

VCP510 exam to do 16th Feb then crack on with ICND2!

Can anyone tell whether the command (config)#’router rip’ starts the rip process. This was a question with some like
i )it starts RIP process but no route update advertisements are being sent.
ii) It starts RIP process and route update advertisements also start.
iii ) It does not start RIP process.
Can anyone rephrase the original question and answer what is true ?
