Share your ICND2 v3.0 Experience

September 16th, 2016 in ICND2 200-105 Go to comments

The new ICND2 200-105 exam has come to replace the old ICND2 200-101 exam. We create the “Share your ICND2 v3.0 Experience” for everyone to share their experience after taking this exam.

Note for ICND2: There are no VRRP, GLBP, NetFlow and NAT questions (and they are not technologies learned in this exam).

Please share with us your experience after taking the ICND2 200-105 exam, your materials, the way you learned, your recommendations… But please DO NOT share any information about the detail of the exam or your personal information, your score, exam date and location, your email…

    Well said man,
I believe that if you only use dumps to pass, you will end up failing many times as you will not learn so much nice stuff that you will for sure need for you entire career. So dont waste your time and money!

What is the technical answer to the following. . . .

How can you disable DTP on a switch port?

    1. Change the administration mode to Access
    or
    2. Configure the switch port as a trunk

Any help would be great thanks.

I also have a question where I am getting conflicted answers:

Which statement about QoS default behavior is true?

    A. Ports are untrusted by default.
    B. VoIP traffic is passed without being tagged.
    C. Video traffic is passed with a well-known DSCP value of 46.
    D. Packets are classified internally with an environment.
    E. Packets that arrive with a tag are untagged at the edge of an administrative domain.

    Anyone know the correct answer?

    New Question.

What kind of data message is send to elect the root bridge
    A. BPDU
    B. Segment
    C. Packets
    D. Hello

    Answer. A

  9. Pl413r
    June 20th, 2017

    @Pete
I tought it was 1 but my teacher said it is 2. Configure the switch port as a trunk. Which makes sense. Since according to him DTP wont go off if you change admin mode to access.

Which statement about QoS default behavior is true?
    A. Ports are untrusted by default.
    B. VoIP traffic is passed without being tagged. X (i see it everywhere and i beleive its the right one)
    C. Video traffic is passed with a well-known DSCP value of 46.
    D. Packets are classified internally with an environment.
    E. Packets that arrive with a tag are untagged at the edge of an administrative domain.

    @Jim
    Explanation/Reference:
Frames received from users in the administratively-defined VLANs are classified or tagged for transmission to
other devices. Based on rules that you define, a unique identifier (the tag) is inserted in each frame header
before it is forwarded. The tag is examined and understood by each device before any broadcasts or
transmissions to other switches, routers, or end stations. When the frame reaches the last switch or router, the
tag is removed before the frame is sent to the target end station. VLANs that are assigned on trunk or access
ports without identification or a tag are called native or untagged frames.
For IEEE 802.1Q frames with tag information, the priority value from the header frame is used. For native
frames, the default priority of the input port is used.
Each port on the switch has a single receive queue buffer (the ingress port) for incoming traffic. When an
untagged frame arrives, it is assigned the value of the port as its port default priority. You assign this value by
using the CLI or CMS. A tagged frame continues to use its assigned CoS value when it passes through the
    ingress port.

Passed ICND 2 today, I would advise using this website to study questions and CBT Nuggets to study concepts. Sims on the website are very similar, and are very helpful. You may encounter a few questions you may not be ready for on the exam but if you dedicated a lot of time to this website you will be fine. Thanks 9tut.

How does a router handle an incoming packet whose destination network is missing from the Routing table?
Does it discard the packet or route the packet to the default route??

  20. luii
    June 22nd, 2017

@ aok. Both is correct based on the scenario. If there is a default route, it will forward it to the default route but if no default route then packet will be discarded

    Hey Everyone,

I have been combing this site and forum for three last three months. I took the Test Wednesday and passed in the low 900s. Used the Odom book to read and study the fundamentals, but put all my faith in the Adjusted .VCE file frm NEB. I had all the same posted SIMs, just variations that weren’t hard to figure out. Only saw two questions that I had never seen before and I am sorry that I do not remember them.

I want to thank NEB for putting that together and everyone here for all the information and discussion.

    Good Luck, everyone!

Hey Guys, I feel like I am drowning in a sea of information and resources. I am thankful for this information, but if you had to choose only a few sources (incd2.pdf/adjusted_vce/9tut_questions) what would you use. I know many questions show up in several different places and I am not trying to be lazy or looking for shotcuts as I have read the Cisco Press book and watched the CBT nuggets series. Thanks for any advice that can be given!

R1 and R2 cannot form an OSPF neighborship. What is the problem?
    A. The area IDs of R1 and R2 are mismatched
    B. Ethernet0/1 of R1 is configured with a non-default OSPF hello interval
    C. The Layer 2 encapsulation of the serial links is mismatched
    D. The OSPF hello and dead interval are mismatched

    Answer: B

    Explanation

Continue checking their connected interfaces with the “show running-config” command:

    R1#show running-config
    <>
    !
    interface Ethernet0/1
    description **Connected to L2SW**
    ip address 10.10.230.1 255.255.255.0
    ip ospf hello-interval 25
    ip ospf 1 area 0
    !
    <>
    R2#show running-config
    <>
    !
    interface Ethernet0/1
    description **Connected to L2SW**
    ip address 10.10.230.2 255.255.255.0

Which interface counter can you use to diagnose a duplex mismatch problem?
    A. no earner
    B. late collisions
    C. giants
    D. CRC errors
    E. deferred
    F. runts

Every time I’ve dealt with duplex mismatch it has always been CRC errors that point it out. This is obvious to those of us that have auto-configure duplex on a switch to switch port and watch the counters. Sometimes they just don’t play nice and one ends up half, while the other is full duplex. Root cause is almost always a cable issue.

Don’t take my word for it, just look up the difference for what causes late collisions and CRC errors. You can also manually configure switch-to-switch ports with one at half duplex and the other set to full to see the fireworks.

    @Aslam

OSPF work on two types of network:

Broadcast and NMBA (non-broadcast multiple access network). The answer A is a “distraction”. OSPF USE MULTICAST to communicate with neighbors via hello messages not BROADCAST. When the neighborhood is established the communication use unicast messages to learn the network topology via LSA (type 1 to 7). Is normal associate /30 for a Ethernet broadcast connection (1 subnet address, 2 network address, 1 broadcast address) but in this case we don’t need the broadcast address, so /31 is a valid subnet range according to the neighborhood specification (SAME SUBNET). 🙂
