    @RouterPowder – yeah shame i think i must have just missed out on those.

    I gave my exam today and passed with 930/1000. 50% of the questions are from the dumps. Coming to the simulations, same questions shared from the @Dave, but the configurations are different which lead us to choose a different answer. So, be careful with the dumps questions which appear on the exam, just check with the configurations and answers while proceeding further.

    Took the test and failed CCENT. The second simulated did me in. I studied all the ICND1 100-105 Sims intensely but was not expecting DHCP Sim from CCNA 200-120 it was all physiological. Any support would be greatly appreciated. I also experienced a lot of IPv6 question outside the dumps. Also Nat & acl questions.

    Hi guys, recently joined the forum and from what i have gathered is that the information shared by Dave is quiet good. Tried going back to old posts and luckily found Dave’s posts but can’t be able to open the links. Can anyone one be kind and share the dumps with me.
    Thanx in advance.

    @Pekz
    Congratulations , glad I could help you somehow!

    @Nate
    The only thing you have to worry about OSPF in ICND1 is administrative distance and maybe know that its a link state protocol. That will be no OSPF SIMs. In ICND1 exam SIMs you can have only RIPv1v2 etc, so know it well to pass.

    @All
    I wont be here to often, but will read here and try helping as much as I can.

  9. PL413r
    December 2nd, 2016

    @Anon
    The SIMs can be DHCP, NAT, SECURITY, RIP, ACL, VLAN and NTP.
    I had Security, DHCP mixed with ACL and NTP.
    PS: read our older posts and you can find out what we had exactly.
    SIMs were the hardest I had on the exam! so study and understand these subjects well.

    Hi guys,

    I’ve studied all the sections in the wendell book and have booked my exam for next week. Just running through the 274Q dump again and i’m not too sure about this question:

    QUESTION 130
    Identify the four valid IPv6 addresses. (Choose four.)
    A. ::
    B. ::192:168:0:1
    C. 2000::
    D. 2001:3452:4952:2837::
    E. 2002:c0a8:101::42
    F. 2003:dead:beef:4dad:23:46:bb:101

    Any thoughts?

  25. Tahoma
    December 3rd, 2016

    Hey Tony,

    The question 130’s suggested answer in the VCE Plus 274q sheet is ABEF. However, I am not sure this is correct. When I ran the addresses via a IPv6 address validator, it said that all of them are valid.

    If, however, the question was ‘Which of these addresses can be assigned to a host?’, then options A and C may not pass. What do our experts say?

  26. Tahoma
    December 3rd, 2016

    @NI-HAO, you reported two questions:

    Q1: If a port configured for VLAN 2 receives traffic for Vlan 1 how will the traffic be handled by the port ?

    Answer: If an access port receives a packet with an 802.1Q tag in the header other than the access VLAN value, that port drops the packet without learning its MAC source address

    Q2: Max how many VLANs can a port support ?

    Was this question actually asked this way? It seems that there are hard-coded limitations in IOS per type of device due to memory limitations (e.g. Nexus switches seem to be able to handle over 4000 VLANs per port).

  33. Tahoma

    @NI-HAO

    The CEF question was mentioned earlier here. If CEF is enabled, fast switching is automatically disabled. This is because there are three types of switching (process switching, fast switching and Cisco Express Switching (CEF) and only one can be active at a time.

    0000000000
    111111000

    What happens when Ethernet cable is too long
    Giants
    Runts
    Late collisions
    don’t remeber 4th one

    3
    If you enable CEF what gets disabled.
    RIB – what the hell is this
    ACL logging –
    IP forwarding – what the heck
    4th one I don’t remember

    4
    When you configure router# ip nat pool 10.10.10.1 10.10.10.20 255.255.255.0
    nat pool
    daymatic nat
    nat translation
    dhcp pook

    5. There was a route question on which route you need. I don’t remember the question.
    192.168.0.0/16
    192.168.x.0/26
    192.168.xx.xx/30

    6. one other question was how many IPv4 addresses can be assigned to an interface? I went with one. What kind question is this? Ugh.

    7. what is or describe NTP. I don’t remember the question.

    I almost pass the exam, off by 1 or 2 questions. Can you help me find the answers?

    @CiscoTryHard
    1. 11111000

    3.
    4.NAT POOL
    5.
    6. with subinterfaces it is 4096 due to max vlans being 4096 so 1 should be correct unless they talk about 2ndary IP’s which they dont in ICND1

    @Snek, I had couple of subnetting questions and that’s it. Very straight forward.

  76. Tony Dean
    December 8th, 2016

    Big thank you to all the guys that have posted especially @Dave, @PL413r and @CISCOTTE! I passed with 930. 90% of Qs were either in the Q274 dump or above. Sims were the DHCP, ACL, RIPV2 (the config of the routers was slightly different, so be careful to learn how to use and understand the show commands (sh run, sh ip int brief). The other was the security Qs – again slightly different configs.

    I can’t remember many of the new Qs, but one was something like:

    Which protocol do switches use to share VLAN information with other Switches?

    a. VTP – I answered this
    b. STP.
    can’t remember the rest of the answers.

    I also had a question on NAT Overload (PAT) along the lines:

    What does it mean by this config: ip nat inside source list 99 interface Ethernet0 overload

    a. Addresses in ACL 99 use the IP address on Eth 0
    Sorry, but can’t remember the other choices

    If i can remember any more i will let you know.

    @Snek – only a couple of subnetting Qs, just remember the magic number subnetting table and you will be fine: http : / / w w w . netsrv-consulting. com/blog/subnetting-using-the-magic-number/

    Hope this helps and see you in the ICND2 board!!

    @shadow & U2

    WHY I CHOOSE SECURITY?? Good question and is simple as that:
    Because my background and FOR EXAMPLE: If you wants to get a J.O.B with the DOD.gov. all positions are requiring a CCNA-Security which is a ” DOD8570 compliance “.

    THEN:
    You will become a ” CISCO PRO ” and will be able to move forward in that PRO INGINEER direction & title recognition!!!

    Also depend what are your ” GOAL ” where you SEE YOURSELF in 5 years from NOW!!!
    AND YOU MUST KNOW THAT!!!!!

    What is DoD 8570?

    You can go CCNA Security right after CCENT Cert you don’t need to get Routing and Switching CCNA first… just a side note….

    Just took the test and failed.
    A lot of the questions were in the 274q, but a LOT. I got 63 questions in the test (I thought they were 45), but you really need to study and understand the material to pass. Some topics were NTP, a lot of NAT, 2 sims, OSPF, IP route a lot of vlans.
    Subnetting questions were very basic.
    I got like 4 questions of Administrative distance. (Ex. They give you the number and the answers are EIGRP, OSPF, etc)

    Q: First step of DHCP when you have a DHCP Server and DHCP client?
    Q: What is Ping? (You need to know the specific definition because all the answers are very similar.
    Q What ip ping all the routers in a LAN?
    127.0.0.1
    239.something.something.something i dont remember the answers
    Q: What is the correct command to NAT?
    What is default command is in the interface?
    a. shutdown
    b.don’t remember the other answers. I selected answer a.
    My last questions was something about vlans?
    if they were 802.3x, 802.5G, something like that.

    I am sorry you did not pass!

    Q: First step of DHCP when you have a DHCP Server and DHCP client?
    Answer:
    The steps are D.O.R.A (Discover,Offer,Request,Aknowlegment)

    Q: What is Ping? (You need to know the specific definition because all the answers are very similar.)
    Answer:
    This is not about seconds…you need to know that the “host sends a ping request and destination sends a echo reply”…many wrong questions were mixing this

    Q What ip ping all the routers in a LAN? (INCOMPLETE)
    127.0.0.1
    239.something.something.something i dont remember the answers
    Answer: It depends, cause IPV6 there is a multicast group…I think the right questions/answers are below
    Q Which destination IP address can a host use to send one message to multiple devices across different subnets? (my guess)
    A. 172.20.1.0
    B. 127.0.0.1
    C. 192.168.0.119
    D. 239.255.0.1 X

    Q: What is the correct command to NAT? (INCOMPLETE)
    Q Which NTP command configures the local device as an NTP reference clock source? (my guess)
    A. ntp peer
    B. ntp broadcast
    C. ntp master X
    D. ntp server

    Q What is default command is in the interface? (INCOMPLETE)
    a. shutdown
    b.don’t remember the other answers. I selected answer a.
    My last questions was something about vlans?
    Q Which option is the default switchport port-security violation mode? (my guess, could also be default switches interfaces “are no shutdown” but router are “shutdown”)
    A. shutdown X
    B. protect
    C. shutdown vlan
    D. restrict

    Q if they were 802.3x, 802.5G, something like that.(INCOMPLETE)
    Which method does a connected trunk port use to tag VLAN traffic? (my guess)
    A. IEEE 802 1w
    B. IEEE 802 1D
    C. IEEE 802 1Q X
    D. IEEE 802 1p

    Many if not all of these questions are in that 274Q.
    Like you said man, you need to understand all subjects now in order to pass (specially to complete those SIMs).
    Study hard, test/time yourself, do SIMs, review new questions posted here and you will easily pass it next time!

    I took test the last week and the biggest surprise I had, after all my practice to get it down to a science (and write down my subnetting cheat sheet as soon as I get my laminated paper) is that I had only ONE question that involved subnetting.

    I recognized over half of the questions from various dumps so you can memorize and get half of the test off the bat, its that other half that was the hard part, because you had to understand the fundamentals..

    I passed with 871/1000 (832 Passing) On to the ICND2.

    Also, another question was something about computer connecting to radio signals and the answers were:
    a. access point
    b. wireless controllers
    c. don’t remember
    I think it the answer was access point

    what are your thoughts on this question

    Refer to the exhibit. Which statement describes the effect of this configuration?
    Router#configure terminal
    Router(config)#vlan 10
    Router(config-vlan)#do show vlan

    A. The VLAN 10 VTP configuration is displayed.
    B. VLAN 10 spanning-tree output is displayed.
    C. The VLAN 10 configuration is saved when the router exits VLAN configuration mode.
    D. VLAN 10 is added to the VLAN database.

    Answer: C

    Everyone here thinks its D – the 274q says D – the v3.0 premium 9tut site says its C – Im thinking it may actually be C

    About:
    Refer to the exhibit. Which statement describes the effect of this configuration?
    Router#configure terminal
    Router(config)#vlan 10 (correct command on routers is Router(config)#int vlan 10)

    Explanation: when you run that command it creates a vlan 10 right after hitting enter, C is not correct because of that! (you can/should try it yourself on packet tracer)
