    B. The two hosts are in the same broadcast domain.
    C. The switch must be configured with a VLAN to allow the two hosts to communicate.
    D. Port security prevents the hosts from connecting to the switch.
    Correct:B
Explanation: switch are layer 2 OSI and dont do routing, no need to configure VLAN to comunicate, all switches come with native VLAN 1 preconfigured, default switch configuration dont come with port security

Hi friends, I take the exam yesterday, I PASS!!!! and as I passed the ICND2 200-101, I am CCNA.
I will tell you my experience ICND 100-105:

I practiced with passleader (it has much errors), although it is true that all questions were here
I recommend you consider this if they have one, but do not rely on responses only 80% are correct.

    the famous labs DHCP:
is very easy, it has ACL, DHCP, NTP and NAT, the question are basic (it
asks no configuration), you aplicate show running-config and verificate the configuration,
-I was wrong last time with NAT (the Access List is applied to the interface loop 127.0.0.1), why would not allow traffic is the correct answer.
-the access list block the traffic for the host, only analyze int he R1 and the answer is very easy.
-NTP is not configured in the R2 is why they do not receive updates.
    – once again,SHOW RUNNING-CONFIG it is the solution to this LAB

the second LABs were the Security Testlet.
-again simple, you must clearly have concepts in VTY password, SSH, configuration of privilegies, user and “passwords 0-7”, also our ally show running-config, oh hell, I love this command, :).

    finally this question is wrong:

4: Which option is a valid hostname for a switch?
    A. Switch-Cisco
    B. Switch-Cisco!
    C. SwitchCisco
    D. SwitchCisc0

    real options in the test:
    A. 5witch-Cisco
    B. Switch-Cisco!
    C. 5witchCisco
    D. SwitchCisc0

    A. 1500
    B. 9216
    C. 1600
    D. 1518
    correct ans : B!

normal MTU Is 1500 for an Ethernet frame. Baby giant supports up to 1600 that means it can support A,C,D. Jumbo supports up to 9216, but the question is not asking about jumbo

  18. dood
    September 30th, 2016

Also you guys just throw answers up like we are playing darts, here is my answer sheet:

Two hosts are attached to a switch with the default configuration. Which statement about the configuration is true?
    A. IP routing must be enabled to allow the two hosts to communicate.
    B. The two hosts are in the same broadcast domain.
    C. The switch must be configured with a VLAN to allow the two hosts to communicate.
    D. Port security prevents the hosts from connecting to the switch.

Answer: B – By default (in a default configuration) port security is not enabled, all ports are assigned vlan 1 and switch is layer two so there is no routing. Because all ports are in VLAN 1 there is no need to route, and they are in the same broadcast domain. Now if they were in different vlans then yes, you would need a router because switches cannot route between vlans

1: Which MTU size can cause a baby giant error?
    A. 1500
    B. 9216
    C. 1600
    D. 1518
correct ans : B- As stated in the post above

2: Which statement about native VLAN traffic is true?
    A. Cisco Discovery Protocol traffic travels on the native VLAN by default.
    B. Traffic on the native VLAN is tagged with 1 by default.
    C. Control plane traffic is blocked on the native VLAN.
    D. The native VLAN is typically disabled for security reasons.
    answer: B – Trivial.

4: Which option is a valid hostname for a switch?
    A. Switch-Cisco
    B. Switch-Cisco!
    C. SwitchCisco
    D. SwitchCisc0

ans – ? – If anyone can provide documentation on this it would be helpful

5: Which two characteristics describe the access layer of the hierarchical network design model?
    A. layer 3 support
    B. port security
    C. redundant components
    D. VLANs
    E. PoE

    Ans – B,D.

    A typical hierarchical topology is.
•A core layer of high-end routers and switches that are optimized for availability and performance.
•A distribution layer of routers and switches that implement policies.
•An access layer that connects users via lower-end switches and wireless access points.

6: Under which circumstance should a network administrator implement one-way NAT?
    A. when the network must route UDP traffic
    B. when traffic that originates outside the network must be routed to internal hosts
    C. when traffic that originates inside the network must be routed to internal hosts
    D. when the network has few public IP addresses and many private IP addresses require outside access

    ans – D one-way nat is pat and pat’s definition is D

8: Which RFC was created to alleviate the depletion of IPv4 public addresses?
    A. RFC 4193
    B. RFC 1519
    C. RFC 1518
    D. RFC 1918

    ans – D – trivial

9: Which value is indicated by the next hop in a routing table?
    A. preference of the route source
    B. IP address of the remote router for forwarding the packets
    C. how the route was learned
    D. exit interface IP address for forwarding the packets

ans – B – packets are sent from a router to the ip address of a “next-hop router” for forwarding the packet

10: Which entity assigns IPv6 addresses to end users?
    A. ICANN
    B. APNIC
    C. RIR
    D. ISPs

    ans – D

11 :Which statement about routing protocols is true?
    A. Link state routing protocols choose a p by the number of hops to the destination.
    B. OSPF is a link state routing protocol
    C. Distance vector routing protocols use the Shortest Path First algorithm.
    D. ISIS is a distance vector routing protocol

ans – B – OSPF, ISIS is a link state protocol. RIP is a distance vector protocol.

4: Which option is a INVALID hostname for a switch?

    C. SwitchCisco
    D. SwitchCisc0

    ans: B

  26. dood
    October 1st, 2016

Nick – I totally agree, first character is alphabetic, last character is alphanumeric, and can have alphanumeric letters in the middle and hyphens. So in our case, B is the right answer

pass – quick research will show you the ospf is a link state routing protocol, but it is not choosen by the number of “hops”. Distance vector protocals are choosen by the number of hops, like RIPv2. In our case OSPF is a link state protocol that uses BANDWITH and calculates PATH COST. And ISIS is a linked state not distance vector. I hope that clears some things up

  27. dood
    October 1st, 2016

Also, The answer I put for baby giant was my educated guess. It is not in the book, but many people have received the question. I think it is 9216 because baby giant can support MTU frames 1600 and BELOW. jumbo frames can support 9216 and BELOW. So the question is asking about a baby giant ERROR. There would be an error at size 9216 because that’s jumbo, and the question clearly states baby giant.

If anyone else would like to chime in and state there opinions and justifications, that would be nice too

    lastly,

“Standard Ethernet frame MTU is 1500 bytes. This does not include the Ethernet header and Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) trailer, which is 18 bytes in length, to make the total Ethernet frame size of 1518. In this document, MTU size or packet size refers only to Ethernet payload. Ethernet frame size refers to the whole Ethernet frame, including the header and the trailer. Baby giant frames refer to Ethernet frame size up to 1600 bytes, and jumbo frame refers to Ethernet frame size up to 9216 bytes.” [reference: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/catalyst-4000-series-switches/29805-175.html ]

    @CISCOTTE, Thanks, I passed with 980/1000.

    1) Look for a website called gratis exam (no space). It is (was?) filtered on 9tut, otherwise I’d have posted the link. Otherwise, look for “Which MTU size can cause a baby giant error” (with quotation marks), that also gets you to valid dumps. I had that question on my test.

    2) 1 sim with DHCP (wrong+missing statement configured), an ACL which was blocking traffic and a NAT pool with wrong IP addresses.
1 simlet with basic security questions on a router and switch about telnet / ssh, it had inappropriate login messages (can’t “welcome” hackers into your device)

    3) The questions were all very easy, I prepared way too hard for this test. Good luck on your studies.

    Got 918/1000 this morning 🙂

many question from the 35q gratis pdf.

About the baby giant, my answer was 1518 as in gratis pdf, but for what i studied, the answer could be 9126. baby giant is supported up to 1600, so to cause error, it must be over 1600
