Show Configuration Simulator

How can you show any information on interface fa0/0 except sh ip int brief?
– show interface fastethernet 0/0 doesn´t work
– show run interface fastethernet 0/0 doesn´t work
– show ip route doesn´t work.

sho ip interface does work…..
That´s one I normally don´t use.

Show Ip interface fa0/0 works, but it displays a subnet of /24
when viewing show ip interface it displays a subnet of /28 for the same interface, why??

I noticed there was a typo in this sim – as Damo states there is CIDR discrepancy in the output of the command show ip int fa0/0 (which is /24) and show ip int (which is /28)

the show configuration testlet is wrong. When you do show inter fast0/0 it shows that the subtnet is /24. the broadcast would be 192.168.136.255 not 15.

@all: Thanks for your detection, we have fixed the problem.

There is another mistake in this simulator, the BCA of the Router LAN interface subnet is Internet address is 192.168.136.14 and I selected this but the simulator picks 136.127 as the correct answer.

***It’s so imperative imperative IMPERATIVE you know as many SHOW commands as possible. (Mainly the ones in THIS simulation) but others too! Not that the simulation is going to throw everyone of them at you, but be confident enough to know whats in them, for the most part, and how to get around them. Know the difference between “Show IP Interface” and “Show interface(s)” That “s” alone, being left off or added where it doesn’t need to be will keep the command from working. The simulation will NOT allow you to use “TAB” and will not allow you to use the “?”. So you have to know the command and be able to effectively spell them.***

For the ICND1 exam how many sims do you get and how many questions what is the full structure of what I am going to be faced with ? – Also can you tell me what Sims are likely to come up, do I need to know Frame Relay or EIGRP for the ICND1 exam ?

I would like to know if I need to study Wans(PPP/CHAP/HDLC) and EIGRP for ICDN1.

I studied using CBTNuggets videos and Todd Lammle. It seems they do not mention those topics for the ICDN1.

Can somebody clarify. On Cisco’s objectives I do not see any ref to these topics.

Cleared my ICND1 today. Scored 960. All questions from 9tut including simulators. There were simulators 1 each for show configuration, OSPF neighbour and security. Only 1 new question I observed which was related to OSPF. Question: “What are the benefits of single area OSPF”? Forgot the options given. Many thanks 9tut and al the best to others.

Are there only 3 sims for ICND1 – show configuration, OSPF neighbour and security?

99% of questions were on 9tut.
OSPF sim, etc.

Biggest obstacles:

Time runs out fast.
Make sure your marker works!

hi all…..just came from exam, got 933/1000….practiced most of the composite exams on 9tut and also the sim’s that helped a lot for me…..thanks 9tut…..all the best for others…

In this simulation show interface was not working but somehow sh int se 1/0 was working
so I used

for bandwidth
sh int se 0/0

for mask(hence broadcast address and no. of hosts)
sh int fa 0/0
or
sh ip interface

for checking the status/protocol of links
sh ip int brief

They change a few questions !
No point to just memorize, later on your job you will have to learn all over again !

Do you know any other site that will prepare you for the ccna security, like this one

How passed the exam

For Question 5 in the simulation, the s0/0 interface is down which should be preventing the host from connecting to the internet. I believe the correct answer should be

#interface s0/0
#no shutdown

hey folks,
if got this simulation in my latest exam, a week or two ago.
just to let you know .

Passed ICND1 today. I had the Configuration sim, but the interface you had to enable was different from the answer on 9tut. Just another example of know the material because if you blidly chose the anser on this test it would have neen wrong. I also got a VLAN trunking sim. I had to configure 4 swith interfaces to 2 given vlans and configure a trunk connection between interfaces on 2 switches. There weren’t many other questions from 9tut, but the material here is so helpful.

wrong interfaces in Question 3? 😀

Please fix the question no 3 when we use show ip int br its only showing two interfaces int fa 0/0 and s0/0 it suppose to show all of the 4 interfaces please fix it.
