Just passed the exam. Had two sims – VTP and Frame Relay Multinational. Two drag and drops the poison reverse etc. and can’t remember the other one but it’s here on 9tut. About 90% exam from 9tut and Daniel Dump . I used CBT nuggets, Dan’s Courses on youtube, 9tut and Daniel dump.

    Thanks 9tut

^^ Was this the ICND1 test or CCNA/ICND2? Isn’t VTP on the latter?

I just saw from the Bryant Advantage that the CCNA exam will change in September with a new exam number and everything. He is guessing new topics will be more challenging than before and there will be a lot more IPV6 questions but on the bright side switching is switching and OSPF is OSPF so that will not change.

I passed today the ICND1 640-822 exam, end WOW…. I feel so relieve… I used the CCNA Study guide from Chris Bryant, an excellent instructor BTW. As well as Jeremy Cioara, and youtube videos, The Cisco Learning Network for some practice and of course this GREAT website. It’s very important to go over ALL the practice on this site, as some of the questions reflect on the graduation day.
Feels so good to be a CCENT now. on to the ICND2…. THANKS A LOT 9TUT :))

Passed today with an 862.. 4 labs, 2 drag n drops, make sure you know your commands and subnetting for the labs, it is a must. 9tut, examcollections(vce) and cbt nuggets is all you need. Thank you 9tut.
@Mohammad.. Sim 2 was on the exam and the sim with the security questions.

    March 22nd, 2013

Passed today 974 points, security sim and implementation sim2 are there. Dont rely on the awnsers though, on the exam everything is different. You need to understand the commands and everything will be fine.

    Learning method:

    Odom’s book (did every chapter)
VCE for testing and understanding questions
packet tracer and 1 real router and switch for testing purposes. (although only packet tracer is fine)
    9tut for sims and understanding

    March 26th, 2013

Passed my ICND1 today with a 912. I know people give lots of study advice and try to say “know this question”, but my advice would be to just put in the time. I have a CISSP and Security+; this test was “easier” than the CISSP, but a little tougher than the Sec+. Understand ARP and MAC forwarding and subnetting. Know show commands and CDP and don’t dismiss little things like wireless differences (802.11b vs. 802.11a and the like). Many questions you see here are on the exam in one form or another, but if you simply put in the time and know the basics you will pass. I did about a month of hard studying (Odom Official Cert Guide, practice tests from MANY places including TestKing) and a fair amount of CLI practice. Memorizing to get the cert is fine and good, and most of the time it’s just a fact for any cert, but knowing how to apply what you learn is something you will value. I need to know this stuff in my job! Good luck to all, now on to ICND2, G2700, and a few CEH certs.

    March 27th, 2013

Is this exam only to contain multiple choices and drag& drop?

  28. Jay
    March 27th, 2013

Oh, I just visited Cisco.com and find out there are 7 question types:
    1.multiple-choice single answer
    2. multiple-choice multiple answer
    3. Drag and Drop
    4. Fill in the blank
    5. Router Simulation
    6. Testlet Question
    7. simlet (this is like router simulation but multiple choice)

How do I study for Router simulation??

  29. Jay
    March 27th, 2013

You either could buy a router which some are very cheap. Or you need to get a simulator. I use packet Tracer

  30. Rakesh
    March 28th, 2013

    hello Jay
Many Lab practice question are available on 9tut website, select the questions, open with packet tracer and do practice. To solve simlet you should must aware of all command included in CCNA syllabus.

  31. Broffredo
    March 28th, 2013

As simple as they seem, I did not see any download links for the ICND1 Packet Tracer files (for the labs). I am pretty much building them on my own anyway, but the download would have been a little helpful. Am I missing where they are posted?

  32. MD
    March 28th, 2013

Passed today with 887. Found it easier that I thought. I went it expecting the worst from reading the posts here. Questions were all fine, not much subnetting. Had the Implementation SIM 2 with the 5 routers. 3 Drag & Drops. May I know more that I realise!! Thanks to 9tut – very useful and great to read all the feedback. Onwards to ICND2 after a couple of weeks off! All the best.

  33. Broffredo

  34. Intel
    March 29th, 2013

    Passed my ICND1 today with a 899.
    In the exam :

    * Show configuration.
    * Implementation SIM
    * Security testlet.
    * Drag and drop : TCP/IP model layer, Frame Relay/ATM/PPP/PSTN, Email/web brower/…,
    * and 50 questions in the dump 640-822 Lead2pas.Cisco.640-822.v12.40.386Q. Not study by heart but understand each principle, protocol, subnetting…

    All share.

Im taking my CCENT on Tuesday. I have been scoring about 95% to 100% on the 640-822 Lead2pas.Cisco.640-822.v12.40.386Q. What do you think my odds are of passing. I know the theory behind it as well. Ive studied the Wendell Odom book as well as having college classes in cisco fundmentals and cisco routing. We have not taken our switching or WAN class yet but I have learned the switching commands by myself. Thanks for any advice

Which command would you use to view how much space has been consumed in NVRAM?

    A. show NVRAM
    B. show flash
    C. show version
    D. show running-config
    E. show startup-config

Not sure which one is the right answer. Can some one tell me ?

In Odem’s book, it says show version can display the total volume of NVRAM but not the used volume

  53. BigMan
    April 7th, 2013

how do I study for my CCNA?

  54. ILLY
    April 7th, 2013

Tasim, the command ” show startup-config” shows the amount of NVRAM consumed because the startup-config is saved in NVRAM

  55. Petuel
    April 8th, 2013

@Taslim The best answer is B. Show Flash this command display the amount of memory consumed by IOS image ( used and available memory ).

  56. Petuel
    April 8th, 2013

Show startup-config display the configuration saved in the NVRAM, but don’t show total, used and avalaible memory. The best answer is B.

  57. Petuel
    April 8th, 2013

This command is used to verify the FLASH Memory available before installing a new IOS image on a ROUTER or A Switch.

  80. Broffredo
    April 16th, 2013

@bj – What was the drag and drop sim you got?

  81. Brian
    April 17th, 2013

I just took the ICND1 test today, unfortunately I did not pass… 775/1000. I personally remember two questions on that that took me by surprise.

Which of the following devices are physical layer devices?
    1.) Switch
    2.) Router
    3.) Hub
    4.) NIC Card

The trick to this one was that Hubs are physical layer devices so i did choose this, but I also thought that NIC cards were physical layer devices. We could only choose one.

Another Question i saw that should not have been on the test was supposed to be a ICND2 question where is asked about Router Encapsulation PPP Authentication. I looked everywhere in Odom’s ICND1 and had nothing in there for authentication. I then opened my ICND2 book and found that PPP uses CHAP and PAP for authentication methods. I also remember that it had a LCP as an option in the multiple choice. Has anyone who took the exam had these questions before that I believe should not have been there in the first place?

  82. Shaun
    April 17th, 2013

Taking exam on the 19th got the latest pass2sure as well any tip?

  83. Broffredo
    April 17th, 2013

Has anyone gotten any questions on the SDM?

@Brian – Yeah, that PAP and CHAP one is a little out of the scope I think, but I would have gotten it right. Although I am taking my CCENT in about a month, I have been studying for my CCNA at the same time so I will be that much more ready to try and get the ICND2 out of the way before September 30th.

  84. Anonymous
    April 17th, 2013

@ Broffredo I personally did not get questions regarding SDM when I took the exam.

  85. Broffredo
    April 18th, 2013

@Anonymous – Thanks. Not sue if I have seen any mention of it anywhere here. But they do require you to be able to configure DHCP and NAT using the SDM. Seemed rather straight-forward on CBT.

    April 26th, 2013

just failed the incd1. 775. only 2 questions i recognized were from the old dump. got a 50 percent on ipv4 and ipv6 addressing which is weird because that’s my strongest subject.

no vtp sim. one question i remember that i hated:

which is the router wan interface:

    inside
    outside
    local
    global

    ???

i thought they were supposed to be inside local; inside global; outside local; and outside global

i had 3 questions on port security. 50 questions. they had some questions (supposedly) that were not counted in the score.

i will post more info after i can look at my results from pearsonvue.
