Passed yesterday with over 900, 50 questions. Here is an out line of some of the questions:

1 X PAT question (basically what it is)
1 X IOS Boot I used flash, tftp, ROM
    1 X question on csma/cd
1 X question on WAN (802.11a/b/g and a 802.11w -never seen w before so didnt choose it)

    drag and drop question,choose from:

    TFTP
    Telnet
    DNS
    DHCP
    email
    arp

    Implementation SIM
    Security testlet
    Cabling

    Nothing on rip.

Last two days I went the whole of CBnuggets. I used the braindumps to test my knowledge and then go over any areas that I was struggling with.
I had 20 minutes to spare.

    Hello everyone,
I passed yesterday and these Simulations are very helpful. I got like 5 different simulations, 3 of them being on this website. I got 3 drag and drops, (DHCP order, protocols, & commands). The rest were multiple choice. I got a 837 so I was right there. Definitely you have to know subnetting, inside and out. Not difficult. Use the Cisco Press books, they were amazing. You have to put in hard work to learn this and pass the test. Once you do that, it is so worth it. Good luck.

    Hi everbody!

Passed today over 900 with lots of time left over.

I hope Cisco doesn’t think I cheated and challenge my score, I really do know this stuff!!!! and since I’m currently unemployed I have hours upon hours to spend on simulators and hardware labs that I have set up in my home; it really makes a huge difference!

used CBT Nuggets, TrainSignal, Wendell Odom CCENT Study Guide w/ the Boson practice test and the Cisco Press INCD1 self study guide by Steve McQuery.

Found this site a few days ago and used it for final practice.

Congrats to all that have recently passed!

Today I passed with 975, if u want to pass just read this web site. 80% of my questions were either word for word from this site, or they were in the exact same format with numbers changed. My recommendations are:

Passed yesterday with a 980. I studied P4S and this website. I began studying 3 weeks ago and did just fine. I highly recommend spending the money for the P4S as ALL multiple choice questions derived from the software! I had three sims, both implementation sims and the hotspot here on tut, and several drag and drops. There was a security testlet that was NOT covered by P4S or tut. It covers 4 questions with two answers for each question. I can not remember any of the questions……

I highly recommend you understanding subnetting forwards and backwards. DO NOT memorize answers only from P4S or Tut. They do change the IP addresses upon the actual test. I learned subnetting quickly and easily through howtonetwork.com. If I’m not supposed to list their URL I apologize. But this guy makes it very easy to learn. It will cost you $22 to learn but well worth the money!

Good luck to all those testing soon…. I’m off to ICND2 in two weeks! With the help of 9tut and P4S I will be CCNA before Christmas!

Any suggestion about the whole laminated scratch pad thing? My writing is terrible will I have room to figure out the subnetting? I was gonna make a list of bits barrowed = xsubnet mask before I begin test.

  20. CW
    December 10th, 2010

@skidmark You will have room. It’s basically a piece of laminated paper. Both sides are usable.

    @Wayne, the answers are B,D.

Just passed ICND1…by the skin of my teeth…814…current dump by Ariel help a lot…also p4s dump…understanding of subnetting is a must…if you are shaky about subnetting…just donate money to salvation army..

The labs on this site help out greatly!!! Greatly! Know basic show commands…ie…show cdp neighbors, show running-config, show ip interface brief, etc… To me 25% of test was wayyyy easy… 20% of test was some what tricky 5% hard……..

I regret reading the ICND1 book over and over and not getting hands on…via router, 9tut labs or Sims…..Just last minute regret

Guys, I have just passed ICND1 with a score of 837. I’m alittle bit disappointed with the score but the most important thing is that I have cleared it.

    The material I used to prepare;
    1. CBT Nugget Vidoes
    2.Train Signal Vidoes
3.Cisco Press Book – ICDN1 by Stephen McQuerry

    As for practice, I used Robie’s and Ariel’s dump. In the exam, there were 10 questions from these dumps, meaning if you go in the exams after memorising the dumps, you are more likely to fail.The dumps will only give you an idea of how exam questions will look like. In order to suceed in this exam;

    1. Study the CCENT material really well.
    2. Know subnetting VERY well(time is of the essence)
    3. know your stuff really well

I had 2 simulations from 9tut.net —— thanks to them.

    ICND2 here I come!!!

    December 17th, 2010

Hi, passed my test last week.

I got the implementation sim off this site, and two other sims that I cannot remember. I did not need to do any configs on the sims.

    Most questions were about subnetting.

There was one question about which heads swap over on a crossover cable. I didn’t know the answer to this.

There was also a question I haven’t seen before which was very easy. It was a drag and drop question where you had to match words such as Collaboration and Email to their descriptions.

I also remember a few questions on CDP.

It is easy enough to pass if you use CBTnuggets and know your subnetting; most questions involve an element of it at least. Good luck!

@CW, That;s right, subnetting, subnetting and subnetting. I don’t think you can get anywhere in this exam if you don’t know how to subnet. Thanks for the pass4usre link you gave me, I will get on to it. I want to be fully CCNA certified by end of February next year. Most test centres in my area are fully booked. Have you done your ICND2 ?

  41. GAP

I was meant to start my exam @ 9AM but ended up starting 20 minutes late cos there renovations being done at the reception area of the testing centre, but hey good luck, just go thru all the sims here, trust me, you will be OK. Remy, if you know the concepts behind the questions (and most questions do slightly vary on the test) than you should be fine. (I’ve taken mine twice, the first time failed because I knew only 75% of the concepts). Make sure you read the explanations on the PDFs and stuff, they help a lot!!!

Passed the ICND 1 today with a 962. Easier than I thought. After failing the CCNA composite test twice (admittedly didn’t have enough time to prepare) I do feel it is better to split the tests up with ICND1 and ICND2 because there is so much material and a lot of it is ancillary information such as who defined what standard and what year did it come out etc. I do feel I over studied for this test however I have been in IT for 13 years and have several other certs. Guess it’s better to over study than under. I self studied for 5 weeks (5-8 hour a day, 5-6 days a week). I used the Global Knowledge Enhanced ICND1 V1.0 part 1 and part 2 books and DVDs (comes with Global Knowledge CCNA boot camp). Also the Cisco Press CCNA ICND1 Official Exam Certification Guide Second Edition (must have). I used Boson, Examworx, Trainsignal and Pass4sure test engines. I also used the Trainsignal and CBT nuggets videos a little bit to brush up on my weak spots. I absolutely recommend you get yourself some router sims (GNS3 is awesome) and go through some tutorials, get used to moving around in the CLI or you will have trouble, also you will be in a better position to prepare for ICND2. I thought there would be a lot more subnetting questions but i think they expect everyone to study that a lot so they don’t hit you with a ton of those. About 75% of the questions were equivalent to the exam engines and 15% stuff I have never seen, 10% were questions similar to the exam engines but worded differently. one thing I remember that was new – know what ‘no login’ command does for vty lines, also know how telnet logins work whether they are turned on by ‘login’ or ‘login local’. Last words of wisdom would be:

    1. Don’t rush the studying. Easier said than done I know, especially when you are currently employed in the IT industry. Study as though you are trying to become an expert, not trying to pass a test.
    1. Braindumps are useful but Cisco is notorious for weeding out the memorizers. Print out a copy of what is covered in the exam (from cisco’s website) and check each thing off as you feel you have mastered it. When you have almost everything checked off, you know where your weak spots are (Cisco Press ICND1 book is invaluable for this). Schedule the test for a week out and pound on the weak spots then go knock out the test.
    3. Get some experience with the CLI (GNS3 router sim) or at least watch some vids (trainsignal, CBT) on how to move around in a router and switch.
    4. Cram before the exam but take a few hours off right before you go in so you’re not burned out. If you don’t know it by then it’s already too late.

    Passed 850
    New Horizon Mentor lead courses
CBT NUggets Videos (The key to passing)
Real lab from ebay, one switch one router about $80.00
    GNS3 Virtual Router sim (excellent).
I did not take the VCE until the day before the exam did ok but didn’t passed it (all 247 Q’s) so I did not memorize anything. There was a lot of Q’s from the Ariel VCE.
Missed some easy stuff by over studying the hard stuff. I had one question that I never saw that info anywhere.

This test was easier than I expected except a couple very hard questions. Learn to subnet, study don’t panic. I let this test get in my head but it wasn’t that bad.

ICND1- scored 950, finished with 20 minutes to spare. Study materials I used was CBT training from Train Signals, and CBT Nuggets. Both are excellent, either/or will suffice. CCENT/CCNA ICND1 Official Exam Certification Guide, 2nd Edition. Real Cisco hardware: 3-2621 routers, 1-3500 switch. ( you could get by with 1 router and 1 switch for icnd1 exam) If you want to learn how to subnet in less than 5 minutes and almost be able to do it in your head, buy Subnetting Secrets by paul browning it is worth every penny, then practice subnetting every day! Know and understand the material on the CBTs then supplement with the book to gain more understanding, practice commands on hardware, then and only then review with 9tut.
Special thanks to 9tut for the materiel listed here. It was exactly what I needed to complete and round out my studies for ICND1.

Hi…Gave my ICND1 yesterday.Got 912..Finished the exam in 60 minutes…Not too happy with the score but I am glad I cleared it…Studied for 3weeks.Did Jeremy’s video, Cisco Press study guide and practiced Jeremy’s simulations and questions on 9tut on Packet tracer.. got 4-5 drag and drop questions(2 were from here). Others included questions on type of WAN connections(Circuit switched, Packet switched, Leased line and Cell Switched). Around 20 questions were from Ariel….Got around 5-6 questions on wireless(about authentication type, encryption type, WEP, WPA2). got 3 simulations(One of them was Implementation SIM). Got the security testlet also…the banner was set to Welcome on the router and switch. That was def one problem. The other was enable password issue on the router.vty port was set to no login on one of them…Jeremy ‘s videos were very helpful(except his technique of subnetting). 9tut and Ariel are great to give you the actual feel of the exam. You must start doing both of them atleast a week before your exam and practice the sims on Packet tracer as well. Thanks 9tut. You guys are doing a great job!! Off to ICND2 now.

Hello, I cleared ICND 1 yesterday. I got 4 sims and all of them are listed ouut in this website but the IP addresses are totally different. I got around 5 drag and drop questions and 3 of them I had never seen in any sample questions. I can remember one drag and drop question and that is tested DHCP process. 4 packets had been given and I got to make them in proper order. The packets that were given as follows: DHCPDISCOVER, DHCPACK,DHCPOFFER,DHCPREQUEST. This is the first time I sat for a cisco online exam and the interface is new to me. Therefore I would suggest newcomers to get familiar with the interface as that could save your time.

Passed today with a 925. The security testlet was on there but I have no idea how i did nor can I really explain it. I know it was a set of 4 questions two each for router and switch. I know you use sho run to get answers. The first set was a choose two for router and switch security. Both had a welcome banner message and both had easy username and password but the questions were not “clear” and did not point out all the possible things wrong so you may have seen something wrong with the security but that did not mean it was one of the answers in the list. The last two questions one for router and switch were single answer choices but I cannot remember what exactly the question was in regards to (something along the lines of based on the config what is true about the operation of the router/switch). Again answers not that clear but I must have got some of it right….

Need to add to my previous post. Looking at my individual scores I got 100% on the security portion so I know I must have got them all correct for that security testlet.

going for my icnd1 end of feb. got cbtnuggets videos, packet tracer 5.2, actual tests dumps (just for reference, not memorization) and wendell’s cisco press book. have been studying on and off both icnd1 and icnd2 for a year, i actually finished studying for both at one point but never set a date for the exam and life just kinda took over and got lost in the maze. but now am set for feb 28th, i figure i need about 3 weeks to brush up and 1 week for test prep.

you guys think I need anything else or any advice is appreciated. seeing others take and pass is what’s motivating me to finally get this done…

    thanks guys

It is my request to all those people who have taken the CCENT test in the month of January 2011 should post exam questions and important topics which they faced in their tests so that future test-takers like us should benefit from your experiences.

    Thanks in advance!!!!!

I will be giving my exam on Feb 10,2011

I passed yesterday and these Simulations are very helpful. I got like 4 different simulations, 3 of them being on this website. I got 2 drag and drops, (DHCP order, protocols, & commands). The rest were multiple choice. I got a 870 so I was right there. Definitely you have to know subnetting, inside and out. Some tricky questions difficult to understand . Use the Cisco Press books, then CBT Nugget Vedio by jermy and ICND1 study guide by Lammle,9tut.net for lab,Packet Tracer, they were amazing . You have to put in hard work to learn this and pass the test. Once you do that, it is so worth it. Good luck. Thanks to 9tut.net for lab support.

Don’t believe 100% on dumps, learn and understand the concept and use dump for an idea of question format, otherwise waste of money on dumps.

@Class254 Congrats on passing of your ICND1. Wish you all the best for the ICND2 and future certifications.

I am not relying on the dumps at all. Just going through these dumps in order to test my knowledge and get little familiar with the ICND1 exam questions.

I would urge other successful test takers as well as those ppl who weren’t so lucky to please post different exam topics and the type of questions which they faced during exams.

    Thank You in advance!

I passed with 937, several of the questions listed here were on my exam. Without the help here, I think I would have struggled a little with some of the sims. This website is a great aid but you still need to know your stuff, some of the questions on the exam are not in any dumps I have seen. I only used exam aids after studying the material. I used the following to prepare for my exam:

ICND1 Wendel Odum (My main study source, very helpful but I noticed some topics were not covered)
ICND1 Todd Lammel (I would recommend this book, very thorough and I like the questions and labs at the end of each chapter)
    P4S
    VCE
    9tut

    Best of luck!

Failed 725 – found some questions very ambiguous. Like a drag and drop on protocols – email – database – collaboration – web browser – telnet – one question was very misleading about whether telnet re: remote or security – can’t remember. Don’t even bother with ariel or robbie VCE. Whilst they may have similar questions, the wording on the actual exam is enough to make you doubt what you should totally know is correct! These are out of date by a long way – save yourself the grief, don’t bother with them! WLANs was where I came most unstuck. Know subnetting – in fact know it all. I wasn’t prepared enough, panicked due to time and started to guess stuff. Forget the dumps, practice tests – KNOW THE PROCESSES!

SMTP (Email) – A store and forward application that allows users to send messages and files in a timely manner

HTTP (Web Browser)- Allows access to the internet thruough a common interface to look up info or retrieve data

Telnet – Provided the capability to remotely access a command prompt on a remote system

Collaboration – allows two or more prople to simutaneously create and or mdify a body of work

Database – a structured collection of records in a central location

Not sure by your comment which protocols were used, but I think these are the correct. The wording is Cisco ease. You will get use it. Just pick out the important parts for the answer.

    just passed CCENT with 862.

    Words of advice…
-know the material. Cisco tests are not like Comtia tests.. memorizing will get you no where. Understand ICND1 with a little over lap of ICND 2.
-be confident on your command line interface commands. be fluent.
-Dumps will get you no where also. I looked at the latest ones out of curiousity, and found it funny when I actually took the test when only about ten of the same questions were on the exam.

If you plan on taking the CCENT or CCNA without actual knowledge of networking, you might as well just give your money to a stripper and actually get something out of it haha

Good luck everyone. study. study. study.

Passed the ICND1. It was easier than I thought. The 9tut simulations helped me get through the exam. Thank you, 9tut. For those of you that are going to take the ICND1, study and practice a lot of SUBNETTING. And, try to be fast because you dont want to stay too long answering questions even though there are 50 questions on the exam. Goodluck.

Materials I used to study for ICND1:

Ciscopress CCENT/CCNA ICND1 Official Exam Cert. Guide
CCENT Study Guide by Todd Lammle <<<<Read this guide first then read the Ciscopress guide.
    Packet Tracer
