September 16th, 2016 in ICND2 200-105 Go to comments

The new ICND2 200-105 exam has come to replace the old ICND2 200-101 exam. We create the “Share your ICND2 v3.0 Experience” for everyone to share their experience after taking this exam.

Note for ICND2: There are no VRRP, GLBP, NetFlow and NAT questions (and they are not technologies learned in this exam).

Please share with us your experience after taking the ICND2 200-105 exam, your materials, the way you learned, your recommendations… But please DO NOT share any information about the detail of the exam or your personal information, your score, exam date and location, your email…

    @CCNAsaywhat,

    do you remember what IPv6 questions where about? I don’t mean the exact questions and answer(If you know that, thats great and put them on here), but did they have to do with EIGRP and OSPF commands, like how to setup OSPF IPV6 subinterface command? Stuff like that?

    @Goldenstein,

    Are the words after the question mark, the answers you think it could be?

  3. Goldenstein
    January 25th, 2018

    @Hdawg

    Yes, or the choices that I could remember.

    @Goldenstein,

    one more question. Do you remember if there were any questions taken out of the CCNAquestions_Dec_2017 pdf file?

    January 25th, 2018

    Did anyone get the answers to the questions posted by @Goldenstein?
    These are totally different questions from the simulations we see there and the answers are not easy.

  9. mrbean
    January 25th, 2018

    Does anyone know average time for 9tut to release new questions?

  10. AJ
    January 25th, 2018

    passed yesterday.
    the new ospf hotspot sim is the same as here.
    eigrp sim- same topology and minor changes in the questions. pay attention to unequal load balancing, as numbers mismatch and network statements.

    some question i could remember:
    1. snmp queries to a specific oid tree? view record
    2. something about switch stacking: higher port density with better resource usage.
    3. some question that the right answer is dhcp snooping.
    4. BGP states.
    5. tacacs messeges
    6. acl rules priority (port filter/route filter….??)
    7. pppoe: the exact same question from 9tut

  11. AJ
    January 25th, 2018

    i’d say 40% from the question was from 9tut and the rest was pretty hard to answer.
    some SDN questions, BGP, SNMP, OSPFv3, distance vector vs link state.
    no drag and drop.

  12. Thefrus
    January 25th, 2018

    @AJ
    What are the labs falling?

  13. Hdawg
    January 25th, 2018

    @AJ,

    Are you sure, there is no drag and drop? Some others have said there were so that’s the part I’m really confused in

    also you said the pppoe question is exactly the same as the 9tut question. Would the question happen to be this:

    Which type of interface can negotiate an IP address for a PPPoE client?
    A. Ethernet
    B. dialer
    C. serial
    D. Frame Relay
    Correct Answer: B

    and regarding the snmp queries and oid tree, would the question be this:
    Which feature can you use to restrict SNMP queries to a specific OID tree?
    A. a server group
    B. a view record
    C. a community
    D. an access group
    Correct Answer: B

  14. AJ
    January 25th, 2018

    @Thefrus
    what do i mean by labs falling?

    @Hdawg
    no drag and drop for me. 100% sure.
    about those 2 questions: yeah those are the ones that i had in my exam.

  15. Thefrus
    January 25th, 2018

    @AJ
    What were the labs in your test?

    @Hdawg
    How do you see the title of the 9tut questions? bought premium access?

  16. Hdawg
    January 25th, 2018

    @Thefrus,

    what do you mean the title? I don’t have premium access but if you look a couple pages back, there is a link to where you can obtain the pdf file with all 200 or so question/answers

  17. Thefrus
    January 25th, 2018

    @Hdawg,

    Is Icnd2.pdf?
    I already have, but I do not trust him, he has many wrong questions and seems to me very outdated.

  18. Hdawg
    January 26th, 2018

    @Thefrus,

    Theres another one that 9tut has a link to. It’s the CCNAquestions_Dec_2017 pdf file. thats the latest before the new exam was layed out a couple weeks ago. I’m looking at both. I belive the CCNAquestions_Dec_2017 has questions for ICND1 as well, so I just highlighted the topics for ICND2 that are on this website and did those questions only.

  19. Billy The Dump

    @AJ thank you, man

    @Hdawg,

    Thanks, I’ll look for this file.
    When’s your test? Mine is for March 2, but I’m very worried because I do not think updated material.

  21. Thefrus
    January 26th, 2018

    @Hdawg,

    I found this pdf on the internet, available at the link below, stating that it is updated, what do you think?

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1atLbHauCFYngkChOSI2HIVELyi_rDcot

  22. Hdawg
    January 26th, 2018

    passed by the hair of my chiny chin chin. 83x/1000. I had no dhcp snooping questions. I had drag-n-drop question. Split horizon, route poison, triggered updates, and maximum(something). I had one lab and it was eigrp. To be honest, I only had about 15% of the questions from icnd2 pdf and the december pdf versions.

    There was a RADIUS question asking about whether RADIUS sent passowrds/username in cleartext or encrypted username/password and sent other information in clear text, or encrypted username and sent password and other info. in clear text.

    The very last question I had talked about host x and host y not being able to communicate with each other and choose the reason why. It was a router on a stick image. the choices were something like. A. host X uses the broadcast address as its subnet B. host y has ip address and subnet configured wrong C. Host y has subnet configured wrong D. Host X has default route configured wrong.

    some of the questions had you scratching your head because they weren’t clear enough or the answers were too vague. There were different layers to some questions where I had to really think it through and try to simplify their question. Once I did that, I was able to get the correct answer. Cisco doesn’t do a good job with how they word their test questions. They need to improve that aspect of the test.

  23. gareth
    January 26th, 2018

    @Hdawg , only the password is encrypted in radius. Did you had this choice?

  24. mark3
    January 26th, 2018

    @Hdawg sounds like you had same test as i had

  25. Hdawg
    January 26th, 2018

    @gareth,

    ya, that was one of the choices.

    You know what I think? I think cisco has a couple versions of the exam and some of us get one version and others get another because some people on here said they didn’t have any drag-n-drops and other people said they had. I had 1 drag-n-drop and 1 lab sim. It was wan EIGRP sim, thats it. i was expecting two sims so I was kinda hurrying with the questions because time was running out and I thought the two sims where going to take up most of my time, but I found out there was only 1 sim and it was pretty easy. It took me less time than I thought.

  26. gareth
    January 26th, 2018

    @Hdawg , Ok and did you got questions from above?

  27. Hdawg
    January 26th, 2018

    here was one question i know was on the exam
    http://vceguide.com/how-can-you-disable-dtp-on-a-switch-port/

    some people say the correct answer is A, but I chose D.

  28. gareth
    January 26th, 2018

    @Hdawg , can u remember other questions?

  29. Hdawg
    January 26th, 2018

    @gareth

    This one was on the exam, but worded a little differently:

    What does it take for BGP to establish connection : AS Number on local router , AS nu,ber on remote router

    Another one: 60. Which two statements about eBGP neighbor relationships are true?(it was worded a little differently, it said BGP instead of eBgp)

  30. gareth
    January 26th, 2018

    @Hdawg ok thanks 🙂

  31. gareth
    January 26th, 2018

    @Hdawg what was the drag n drop ?

  32. Hdawg
    January 26th, 2018

    @gareth,

    I more of a visual guy in the sense that if you give me a list of questions I can point out 90% of what questions are on the test. I don’t remember how each is worded exactly.

    I’m looking at the pdf that Thefrus sent and seeing which ones are on the test. I looked through half of them and don’t see any that I recognize.

  33. Hdawg
    January 26th, 2018

    @gareth,

    I posted on the very top.

  34. gareth
    January 26th, 2018

    @Hdawg,

    Oh ok sorry. Did you had question about QOS/SNMP/Stacking?

  35. Grimraven
    January 27th, 2018

    Which statement about DTP is true?

    A. It uses the native VLAN.
    B. It negotiates a trunk link after VTP has been configured.
    C. It uses desirable mode by default.
    D. It sends data on VLAN 1.

    I keep seeing this question over and over again. The answer is A. It uses the native VLAN.

    Reference is here: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/catalyst-6500-series-switches/24330-185.html

    In summary, note this information about trunks:

    CDP, VTP, and PAgP updates are always forwarded on trunks with a VLAN 1 tag. This is the case even if VLAN 1 has been cleared from the trunks and is not the native VLAN. If you clear VLAN 1 for user data, the action has no impact on control plane traffic that is still sent with the use of VLAN 1.

    On an ISL trunk, DTP packets are sent on VLAN1. This is the case even if VLAN 1 has been cleared from the trunk and is no longer the native VLAN. On an 802.1Q trunk, DTP packets are sent on the native VLAN. This is the case even if the native VLAN has been cleared from the trunk.

    Note: Since we are obviously talking about 802.1Q trunk, this part is what we are looking for: “On an 802.1Q trunk, DTP packets are sent on the native VLAN. This is the case even if the native VLAN has been cleared from the trunk.”

  40. Hdawg
    January 27th, 2018

    @gsp,

    ya I got a couple Ipv6 questions(not too many) One I remember was where it asked how you would enable IPv6 for Eigrp All the other answer where wack, and the only answer that made sense to me was the third one which said”ipv6 unicast-routing” so I chose that one. I believe one of the choices was “eigrp ivp6 as-number”(that isn’t right because the real answer to that is ipv6 eigrp as-number). you had to really think about it on different levels because they throw cr@p like that on for answers. They just switch one word and put it in a different location. Its stupid in my opinion.

  57. Hdawg

    @nixae,

    Here are the ones I remember being on the test.

    7,10, 13, 15, 17,18,19,,22(i think it asked you to provide two answers),25,27,29,30(i think, but not 100% sure)

    @Reggae,

    There have been other people who have also contributed to answers after taking their exam. I’m just trying to do the same. I know they helped me in some aspect of the exam so I’m passing it on. People definitely have to read and understand the material and do alot of practice sims/tests. I know that helped me pass.

  58. Billy The Dump
    January 30th, 2018

    @hdawg thanks !

    by the way, what do you think about this question?

    13. You are trying to troubleshoot the connectivity lost between 2 devices. How do you start troubleshoot? using extended ping? using trace route? using extended ping from the source

  59. Reggae
    January 30th, 2018

    @HDawg
    thanks for all the help and advice. I’m just trying to do as many questions as I can now. So many strange questions cisco brings…

    @Billy
    Just my 2c… I think you start troubleshooting using traceroute to find the point at which connectivity is broken.

  60. trance
    January 30th, 2018

    anyone know if the ICND2 Composite Quizzes is updated with the new questions?

  61. Billy The Dump
    January 30th, 2018

    @Reggae

    yeah, but I think we need to see topology to answer
    may be the hosts are on the same network, so we don’t need traceroute then
    anyways, I think we have to use just ping as the first step of troubleshooting, or extended ping from the source interface

  62. Billy The Dump
    January 30th, 2018

    and if the ping works,- we cant guarantee L3 connectivity, so the problem is on the upper layer (for example misconfigured ACL is blocking traffic at L4)

  63. Billy The Dump
    January 30th, 2018

    and if the ping works,- we can* guarantee

  64. Hdawg
    January 31st, 2018

    @Billy The Dump,

    Your correct in needing to see the topology for the answer, but I think that question had more to it. I think it said to assume that Layer 3 process was working fine so that would eliminate traceroute. I would use ping as first step of troubleshooting.

  65. Zaza

    @gareth, the question did not ask you about the default state.

    Question : what does this monitor session command (monitor session 16 source interface GI0/11) means?

    Answer : source monitoring session – unidirection

    Reason for answer : A source interface can not be simultaneously configured as a destination interface.

    13 : For example, if an ACL has entries that would deny the traffic on an interface along the path, the results of the analysis are reported as if the traffic had reached the destination without being denied by the ACL from cisco ; so not answer D

    @kaz
    The SPAN session on the switch will copy all the traffic that it sends and receives on source port F0/1 => the answer is “source monitoring session – bi-direction” – C

    @Kaz , a source interface can monitor trafic received and sent , this is the default behaviour ; so birectional
