    loopback1

  2. dude
    October 1st, 2010

    @Matty that’s hello and dead timer.
    if dead timer is 60 seconds than the route will know that the router (through RIP) doesn’t exist anymore and will be removed from routing table because router (using RIP) did not hear from another router (using RIP) for that interval thus it is not available.
    hope to help

    @Alex: these questions about STP/RSTP that you cannot answer please post them here we’ll find a solution.
    thnx

  4. Alex
    October 1st, 2010

    why? Loopback with biggest ip always win? πŸ™‚

  5. dude
    October 1st, 2010

    loopback always wins vs physical interface.
    with biggest ip it’s just the comparison of numbers I guess. Like in RSTP lowest bridge ID is elected as the root bridge.

    @Alex: what section of the exam you were weak today?

  7. Alex
    October 1st, 2010

    sorry but I do not remember them. It’s something about compatibility between STP and RSTP. Multiple choice.
    Another multiple choice about VTP modes. Clients in transparent mode can update other clients, right?

  8. Alex
    October 1st, 2010

    Nat. Only 33%.

  9. dude
    October 1st, 2010

    I think STP AND RSTP questions you got are:
    Which switchport mode is introduced to RSTP that was not in STP
    Discarding.
    VTP transparent mode: does pass through the vtp information but doesn’t not update it’s database, even if a switch with VTP TRANSPARENT mode makes changes to vlans it will not update other switches in it’s VTP domain.
    only server can update others.

    Implement IP spaces – 100%. I prepared by Train Signal and Net bosson sim.
    But theoretical questions were too complicated for me.

  11. Alex
    October 1st, 2010

    no, it was completely different. It was 5 or 6 choices 2 of them about computability with numbers 802.1D

  12. Alex
    October 1st, 2010

    other question was to decide wich port will be Designated port for printers.
    Where are 2 segments. Lowest mac in separate segment. So wich will be? Lowest in the same segment? Or lowest in all segments?

    Alex and anyone else that can help, did you have the frame relay show commands question, lab? Alex if i email you some info can you let me know if u saw any of it? my email jrs711@live.com. How much frame relay on your test? mine I took had a lot on it?
    I have been told that how you answer the first questions on how you prepare for the test depends what questions you get is this true??
    Has anyone seen any of the 802 9tut labs on the 816 test? will be taking test again. soon.

    @Matty

    Understand the Question….

    when RIP route marked invalid in router then how much time will elapse before that route is removing from routing table????

    Sending Updates every 30 sec, next due in 8 sec,
    Invalid after 180 sec, hold down 180sec, flushed after 240

    The question states: WHEN RIP ROUTE MARKED INVALID….!!!.. so

    “Invalid after 180 sec” statement in part of question…. so 180 pass already…
    and …
    “flushed after 240” statement in part of question too… needs to be removed…

    the difference 240 – 180 = 60…. that’s why…

    Good luck

    I’m looking everywhere one q. from multiple questions thah I had on last exam, about route summarization in classful !! network where OSPF is configured on all routers (how many show ip route command list summarized or not networks on one of them) I can’t find that question anywhere.

    October 2nd, 2010

    @alex: donnyeddy@live.com

    @matty: show mac-address table is a dynamically/statically learned mac address table from hosts in that switch – this can be configured to not be deleted from mac-address table whereas show ip arp are ip and mac-addresses binded to that ip address.
    example 192.168.1.1 mac-address: 00:00:00:11:22:33
    and if 192.168.1.1 is not active you wont be seeing it in the output of show ip arp if example 192.168.1.1 is not powered on, but if you configure a switch to not forget mac-address of that particular host by issuing show mac-address table you’ll still see the mac address of that host.
    hope it helps
    use packet tracer to manipulate with cli.

  25. Matty
    October 2nd, 2010

    @dude,

    So how do you configure the mac-address-table to not forget the entries.
    I am asking for more exam point of view really, in case I need to use these commands

    @alex & dude

    Why not you guys just discuss the exam questions here so everyone stays in the loop.

    @alex,

    PASS4SURE have a refund guarantee if you fail the exam. If you send them your TRANSCRIPT they must give you a refund. You gave your exam on 1st October and this dump was released on 30th Sept. Re:P4S – They are all bloddy scammers..
    In your experience was the exam HARD. I mean as long as you know why each question from the DUMP has that answer, you will understand the logic. Isn’t that enough to pass the exam really??
    DUMPS really do help you prepare I guess..so if you do a couple of them (say winget and Wizard), isn’t that enough preparation already??

    Also anything new you learnt from Alex?

    @all in this forum

    I have a question regarding STP.
    SW1 and SW2 are connected in the fashion as shown. Which one of the ports will be designated port, root port and blocked port.

    SW1(Prioirity 8192) SW2(Priority 32768)
    FA 0/1 ————————– FA 0/11
    FA 0/11 ————————– FA 0/1

    Please provide explanation. Note how the switches are connected??

  31. jr
    October 3rd, 2010

    @ Matty,

    Sw1 0/1 will be the root. reason being is it has the lowest priority and it is the lowest number for the ports you mention. i believe

    @alex… yeah i going to take test next week, the stuff u said u have above can you send that to me also. i will review it…and i can tell you after the test what was on it. my email is jrs711@live.com

    I will not contact P4S because whey will ask me mi CISCO ID. I think it’s too risky to be compromised. P4S dump not cover general logic of the test.
    This dump is more valid.
    http://www.examcollection.com/cisco/Cisco.TestInside.640-802.v2010-05-16.346q.vce.file.html
    There were several questions that I can not find anywhere.
    One of them was about ACL. Scheme with 3 switches, and you need to choose on wich one (of 2) you will need apply this list, and chose interface (s0 e0) and in out. I think I chose right switch and right interface (e0) but I was wrong in direction – in. Right was out. But I’m not shure.

    Got this one 1 week ago on my ICND2 test…

    Question:
    A network administrator needs to allow only one Telnet connection to a router. For anyone viewing the configuration and issuing the show run command, the password for Telnet access should be encrypted. Which set of commands will accomplish this task?

    A.service password-encryption
    access-list1 permit 192.168.1.0.0.0.0.255
    login
    password cisco
    access-class 1

    B.enable password secret
    line vty0
    login
    password cisco

    C.service password-encryption
    line vty 1 (some test out there put a “0” instead of “1”)
    login
    password cisco

    D.service password-encryption
    line vty0 4
    login
    password cisco

    Answer: C

    I have a question the dumps keep referencing ch 6 ip routing but my cisco books do not have a ch 6 with a title ip routing. Where can I find this chapter? This is the 1 sections that is giving me the most problems.

    October 7th, 2010

    @all recent test takers,

    Can you confirm if when giving the ICND2 exam, can you go BACK on questions you have already answered or not..Also how many questions on VPNs and IPv6.
    Are the IPv6 questions on http://www.9tut.com enough for preparation.

  74. dude
    October 7th, 2010

    @Matty:
    no you cannot go back to the previous question.
    did you do icnd1 ?
    as far as I remember I didn’t have any VPN question.
    I had a few IPV6 questions which I haven’t answered correctly as I skipped studying about IPV6 lol.
    that ccna dump has enough questions about IPV6 that u can study and u’ll be ok in the exam.
    best of luck

    A – 6to4 tunneling
    B – GRE tunneling
    C – ISATAP tunneling
    D – Teredo tunneling
    E – VPN tunneling
    F – PPP tunneling

    Answer: A C D

    October 7th, 2010

    @dude Thanks for your tips, anyway do you still remember the OSPF simlet? I’ll retake my ICND2 next week, and any tips about ACL and NAT? Thanks again!

  77. Matty
    October 7th, 2010

    @dude,

    thanks buddy.
    I gave my ICND1 about 3 years ago. Was hoping that things have changed now πŸ™‚
    It seems like for IPv6 there are not many questions from the last chapter of CBT NUGGETS

  78. dude
    October 7th, 2010

    @Matty: Nah not really from cbt or any other dumps except the ccna dump.

    @pogi: I honestly don’t remember any ospf and acl simlet, I only had VTP sim and I know I had a hotspot with East – West routers about their serial/wan links.
    and I remember in one of them I was asked about if they need a password to connect, but I know I mistakenly answered that questions because I thought the encapsulation type (which was HDLC) does not require a password at all, but as I have realized I was supposed to do show-run to find out if they have a password.
    See now i’m identifying my mistakes in this case 3 of them which resulted in my failure.

    I didn’t setup correctly the VTP SIM ( forgot to put default-gateway)
    I didn’t answer the IPv6 question correctly – the one above I just posted.
    I didn’t answer the hostpot correctly (the one I was talking about with wan/serial links)

    and these are the key questions in the exam which give you the more points than any other.

    TO ALL OF YOU after doing some config don’t forget to issue
    copy run start – else not valid.

    Good luck guys and come with some feedback and tell me about new questions.

  79. Eugene
    October 7th, 2010

    Barely passes ICND2 today with 878 with passing score 825.
    I had 40 questions which almost all of them were covered in the 9tut(com.net)&mashti&acme dumps.

    Thanks goodness I have prepared myself for NAT and ACL question so I had no problems with such questions. Also there was VTP lab where you have to set up switch with an IP address and Gateway along with VTP mode and VTP domain with all this info you can get from neighbor switch. Easy enough, huh?

    Got Frame-Relay simlet and OSPF simlet which I`ve never seen in any dumps. Other questions were easy enough… But anyway I barely passed.

    Now heading to CCNP.

    October 7th, 2010

    Hi Eugene, Congrats and thanks for the update. Can you still remember the OSPF simlet? How about the NAT and ACL can you elaborate more? Thanks!

  82. pogi
    October 7th, 2010

    As for the ACL and NAT was it covered by Mashti and Acme?

  83. Eugene
    October 7th, 2010

    ACL and NAT were covered almost 100% by dumps from acme and mashti.
    OSPF was easy. There was big Area of OSPF routers with one BR which connected to ISP router. And 4 questions regarding this picture: How many routes does BR router have?.. Other questions regarding this OSPF sim gone from my head unfortunately.

    Guys, do not rely only on dumps (they are good for practicing though), study the basics and keep in mind that you have to know every module eigrp, ospf, nat, acl, wan concepts, etc..

    It is always good to practice using boson, gns3, pocket tracer or even live equipment to get yourself familiar with cli and equipment itself.

  84. Eugene
    October 7th, 2010

    please keep in mind that although dumps were good and many questions on exam have the same question in it but with different subnets, IPs, AS, etc.. So know concepts.

I cannot however tell whether or not the questions are from the exam because this will be my first shot at ICND2. I am finding about 15% new questions in testkingdump when compare with other dumps but then again, I am not sure if they are from the actual exam.

    @Pablo & Matty:
    Let me know if you need activation key but I dont’ know how many more I can have … I have been lucky to find it because my friend gave it to me.. he had a subscription for other products then this worked for him aswell, anyway email me and I can give it if it works but I’m afraid it may invalidate other activations lol.

    Failed my ICND2 on friday. Got a pathetic 624 and needed 825. Most of the mock questions I have been practicing were not on there.

    Was not prepared for a number of questions. New sim on VPT!

    It asked me to set up a second switch, and assured me the first one was set up correctly. I forgot the command show vtp status. Lesson learned! I used sh running-config, but I couldnt find any useful details.

    I was supposed to set up a default gateway, a hostname, and put it in vtp client mode. I have no idea where to get the IP details it wanted me to put down.

    Anyone else come against this? Kent, it looks like you had that same sim, how did you find the IP addresses?

    Also, there was a 4 part OSPF simlet. Not seen that either, I had some issues but I think I muddled through that.
